I want.. a dog. so bad ;;

My teacher asked me if my family and I would like to adopt her 8 year old ShibaINU, and of course I was like, "o3o YES" but my parents remain unconvinced about vets, hair shedding, etc..

I've looked up articles about them- but I don't know~~~ D:

Does anbody own a Shiba? if so, can you tell me if there are certain things that a future owner of a shiba dog should know of? xD and maybe the requirements~~

The main problem is that. we have a backyard, but its not fenced.. so I was wondering, if shibas would be happy as an indoor type of dog. (but of course, my brother and I would walk her daily)

gahh.. it's just that. i've never had a dog before, and shibas are next to border collies on my -awesomest dog list- lol

I know~ but.. after I saw her picture, she was so pretty- and, well- any time is good enough? xD I'm thankful that she isn't any older~

Shiba Inu's were once meant for hunting, thus they still might want to do that, that's why you can't let the dog out without fences, it sees a bird and off it will go ^^'
Shiba's are active and happy dogs who learn alot, it's are friendly towards guests. Shiba is a dog like anyone else, they should be walked 3-4 times a day, at least one of those times is a very long walk, they nees the excersice.

Oh my.. rambling....

Hmm, I've had no personal experience with Shiba Inu's sorry. D:
But yeah, they are looovely dogs. <3
Though, because she's an 8 year old, she won't be as hard to look after as a younger one so that's something. :3
Border Collies and Shiba's are my favourites too. >w<

yess get a dog, they're such good companions but im not allowed to get a big dog so ive only had experience with toy dogs >u<
but i do have friends that have some dogs and they shed a lot D:
but sounds like a cool idea ! <33 shiba inus are adorable ;__; ~

^^; My shiba's 16 years old this year... we didn't think she'd last this long though.

Hmm... well, she doesn't have a problem being inside, just beware though, if you're gonna walk 'em- keep a good grip on your leash. A squirrel, bird or somethin' they wanna chase and they're gone. :XD: They're very sturdy n strong despite their size small size.

They can be very territorial though-but they're not supposed to be that loud... but apparently even at mine's old age, she's QUITE the vocalist. :shakefist:

But ya know, wouldn't trade her for the world she's so darn cute... fat :giggle:

Oh, and they shed ALOT. (Fyi mine's a long hair) When feeling threatened or afraid, they shed alot more, but the majority is during the spring, but otherwise, year-round shedding.

heck- the shiba looks tiny x3 the pic the owner sent is of her in a kids swing. A KIDS SWING lol she's so adorable xD

LOL when I get back- I think.. I'll do a logo contest or something ;3
